Scuba diving is one of the most awesome sports around and one of the only ways that the common person can visit an alien world. Every diver has his or her own interests and there is a wide scope of activities and underwater attractions that will satisfy everyone’s tastes. Many dive to just revel in the splendor of the underwater world, others to photograph it and others who search for historical artifacts that have found their way into the watery world.
One of the most fascinating activities for divers is wreck diving and there is no end to the amount of boats that have been lost throughout history from storms, collisions, wars and ill luck. For the recreational wreck diver there are many wrecks in shallow water and many dive operators worldwide transport their diving clients to safe and well surveyed sites. There are also deep wrecks that are visited by highly experienced advanced divers.
The certifying agencies offer wreck diving courses for recreational divers and it is a must to have proper training. Advanced divers can safely dive the outside of many wrecks, but to penetrate these submerged ghost ships takes very advanced training and well planned out techniques.
