There’s something to be said for the thrill of a perfectly cooked steak or cheap Direct TV packages but what about the thrill you get from driving on one of the world’s most dangerous roads? If you’re interested in taking on the asphalt at one of these sights, call an ambulance FIRST.
Road of Death: Well, with a name like that you know it’s not kidding. This gravel road snakes around a mountain in Bolivia and the drivers who are regularly on it think nothing of running you off the road. Oh, and watch out for the bikers and occasional landslides, too.
Grimsel Pass: It’s not the most dangerous but it is pretty insane. It’s a multiple-switchback affair high in the mountains of Switzerland and it’s usually covered in snow, so there’s that.
Splugen Pass: Italy has quite a few roads on the big list but Splugen Pass is the most dramatic. It snakes back and forth (and back and forth) down a sloping hillside and there are no real speed limits so watch out.
